These are a classic free range heavy laying hybrid producing a stable 290 eggs per year. high oil content on the black feathers shows as green and purple sheens.

The Barring gene is often used for rapid sexing at hatch, but also produces a really striking bird. We have used these birds for eggs many times and theyve proven to be reliable and robust. 

Possibly the biggest but dosiest of all the heavy laying hybrid birds. They enjoy a cuddle, and plod through life stress free. Laying daily , but never really comprehending what they just did.  Intellectually somewhere between goldfish and woodlice.

Leghorns are devious, untrustworthy and can work out an escape plan in detail. a small bird laying the most and best eggs in a white shell. We bring them out in a locked carrier and make sure you pay for them as soon as they are decanted into the box.
